rain, rain.

The past few days it’s been very rainy in Chicago. While some people might not like the rain, I’m actually a huge fan of it! For one thing, rain in Chicago means it’s finally warmed up above freezing (it was 60 on Tuesday!), and that’s always a welcome surprise in January. Rainy days also bring cute rainy day outfits.

In fact, rain is one of my favorite types of weather to dress for. Just behind dressing for sunny days at the beach. I love splashing in puddles in my rain boots, wearing a fabulous trench coat or rain slicker and carrying a cute umbrella.

Here are a few of my favorite rainy day looks:

If anyone needs me, I’ll be outside splashing around in a puddle! Have a wonderful (and dry) day.

The past few weeks I’ve really been trying to keep up with my workout routine and make it to the gym at least 4 times a week.

When I first came to college I was in great shape, but as I got busier, I had less and less time for the gym. Now that I’m done with my position in my sorority and have more free time, I’ve been trying to get back to my old fitness level.

yogaI’ve found one thing that motivates me to get to the gym (besides the idea of my hot new body!) is having super cute workout clothes. It might sound kind of silly because I can get just as good of a workout no matter what I wear, but I’ve found that the better I look and feel, the better my workout is. Thus, my addiction to Lululemon. I could seriously spend all of my paychecks there without any problem at all.

Also, I’ve discovered a new addiction to spinning! Even though its absolutely brutal to get up and go to my 6:15 class two days a week, I always feel awake and energized afterwards. It’s safe to say that I’m completely obsessed.

What are some of your tips to stay motivated at the gym?

Things are Sweeter in Tennessee

This past weekend I went home to Tennessee to visit my family.

My parents recently moved, and this was the first time I saw their new house. It was pretty weird not to be staying in my childhood home, but I do really like their new cozy, cottage in the country. Here’s a few scenes from the weekend:

Cheers to the Weekend!

Happy Friday, everyone!

I don’t know about you, but I am seriously glad it’s finally the weekend. This week has been absolutely nuts, and I am so ready to relax a little bit.

I headed home to Nashville last night to see my parents and check out their new house. I’m looking forward to hanging out and enjoying my mother’s delicious cooking.

Have a great weekend!
